In this “playshop” we’ll discover a new book and interactive song that teaches about the awesomeness of cicadas. We’ll explore the song’s interactive chorus, the idea of insect sounds around the world and music and movement for Cicada Sing-Along.
Best of all, we’ll explore additional activities that tie into the song, such a making a cicada tree, cicada origami, puzzles, word searches and more. Come to this workshop to learn how to take one song and turn it into a world of learning about a beneficial bug!"

"DARIA" Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou (she/her) - World Music Performer, Educator and Author
Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou - also known as DARIA - grew up playing in the woods by her home, fascinated by bugs, snakes, salamanders, native plants and trees. She has spent over 40 years making music around the world and many of her songs are about the beauty and wonder of nature. DARIA is the author of songs heard across the globe including the Earth Day Song (We’ve Got The Whole World In Our Hands), the World Oceans Day Song (Wild And Free), Beautiful Rainbow World, I Have A Dream and many more songs that have become anthems for a kinder and greener world.
